Division One President's Message
At the National Convention last week, I was honored to receive the Lifetime Membership to the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Award. I would like to thank everyone that was involved in submitting an application on my behalf.
The convention was educational and all of the reports are on the National website. If you need the password to the website please contact me. Along with the usual business of the Order, this year’s Immigration Committee report was very moving as the U.S. Immigrational policy has a direct effect on the new National President, Sandy Swift and her family. At September’s meeting we will discuss resources to become better informed. The AOH Golf Tournament on August 22, 2026. Details are on the flyer. Deadline to register is 8/10/2026. If you are not a golfer, consider volunteering to help make the event a success.
22nd Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Hooley is 9/18/2026. Attendance is the key to success. Gather family and friends and enjoy an evening of comradery. Mary Gilroy is the Chair for the raffle baskets and restaurant board. The board contains all kinds of gift certificates- restaurants, salons, retails stores, etc. If you know a business that may donate please reach out and ask for a gift certificate. If you have some items to donate but do not feel it is enough for a basket, contact Mary and she may be able to combine items to create a basket. Baskets sales greatly contribute to the overall success of the Hooley. Baskets do not have to be great works of art- just pick a theme and gather items that go with it. Joan Macguigan would like to thank all of her Sisters that participated in the 95th Birthday card shower. Joan was surprised and delighted to receive all the well wishes.
With the recent tragic events it makes you realize life is a precious gift. Make this realization a call to action: call a friend, mend a fence that ruined a relationship, drop off a meal to someone that is lonely.etc Keep our motto in your hearts.
I want to express our sincere condolences to Pauline Le Strange on the recent loss of her beloved grandson Camerson. May God grant him eternal rest

Division Two President's Message
Since we don’t meet in August, please take the time to read the newsletter to find out what is happening…I hope you are enjoying the Summer, if it’s too hot and you need to cool down, stop in to the Hall, have a chat and a cold one with your friendly bartenders, fellow Hibernians and the hall is air conditioned!
There was a nice gathering at the AOH/LAOH Family Picnic at Ross Park on Sunday, July 12th, thank you to the AOH Men for providing the meats for grilling, and to the members in bringing a dish to pass and desserts.
You should be receiving our annual Lottery Ticket Fundraiser letter/tickets for the month of September. The money we raise from this goes a long way in helping toward charitable contributions as well as expenses, thank you for your support. If you need more tickets or wish to have your name removed from any future mailings, please let me know. Good Luck!
Please join us for Our Lady of Knock Mass, Saturday, August 8th at the 5pm mass at St. Paul’s Church on Chenango St., a dinner will follow at the AOH Hall. All AOH and LAOH members are invited to attend, if you have a sash, please wear it.
If you are interested in volunteering at the 2027 AOH/LAOH NYS Convention being held in Binghamton, please contact me.
There are a few members who have not paid their dues which are now $35. Stop in to the Hall with your dues card and check made out to LAOH Division or you can mail it with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: AOH Hall, 148 Main St., Bing. 13905, Attn: Cookie Luke.
Save the Date: Friday, September 18th, Half-way to St. Patrick’s Day Hooley, advanced admission tickets ($18) are on sale now, if you want to purchase a ticket, please let me know as I have some to sell. Hollie has 50/50 tickets to benefit Stamp Out Cancer ($2) or you can buy them at the AOH Hall.
Our next division meeting is Wednesday, September 16th at 7pm. If you aren’t receiving emails about meetings/events, please let me know and I will add you to the list.
We continue to pray for those in the military, for our members in need, and our special intentions. Condolences to our Division 1 sisters on the passing of Eileen Sullivan and to Pauline LeStrange on the passing of her grandson.

LAOH County Board
Well, it certainly has been a very hot summer. I hope everyone stays well and hydrated.
The AOH/LAOH picnic was a great success as always. Good food, music, and time with friends. Thanks to all who participated and volunteered.
The AOH/LAOH National Convention in Omaha, Nebraska was a great success. There were five LAOH sisters in attendance. What a great time to see everyone and have conversations. The history of the founding place of Omaha for the LAOH was interesting. A lot of information was brought back and will be discussed at the next County Board meeting.
The National LAOH Board President named Sue Messina as Military and Veterans Affairs appointee to the National LAOH Board. Sue served as a presenter representing NYS at the National Constitutional Convention held Tuesday and Wednesday prior to the National Convention.
Congratulations to Jaqi Kenefit upon receiving the Lifetime Membership. Also, Congratulations to Ian Haines a recipient of the McNabb Young Leadership program. Very proud of both of you.
Our next County Board meeting will be September 1, 2026, at 5:30. Anyone in good standing may attend and are welcome.

Join the LAOH Junior Division – Keep Our Tradition Alive!
We’re calling all girls ages 5–18 to become part of the LAOH Junior Division — a vibrant Irish Catholic organization dedicated to preserving Irish traditions, customs, and heritage through friendship, cultural activities, and charitable work.
As a Junior member, you will;
Participate in engaging meetings that explore our Faith, Irish history and culture, and American patriotism.
Get involved in meaningful community service projects — a great way to fulfill Confirmation requirements.
Enter the Irish Writing Contest, with the chance to win local, state, and national prizes.
Be eligible to apply for the Mary Curry Memorial Scholarship.
Build leadership skills and make lasting friendships.
No family connection to the Hibernians is required — all girls with a passion for Irish culture are welcome!
