Happy Spring! March was certainly a busy month with all the St. Patrick’s Day activities. Thank you to all involved with Parade Day Weekend and St. Patrick’s Day - from the pipers at the AOH the night before, the beautiful mass, parade, all the entertainment, and the AOH Pancake Breakfast in support of the mass. And a special thank you to all of our members who volunteered at these events.

We appreciate your support for our Good Friday Fish/Macaroni & Cheese Dinner on Friday, April 3rd (take-out only).

At our March meeting, we were invited by the Twin Tiers Honor Flight to write out “Thank you cards” for our veterans, it was nice to have so many members write messages. We discussed our Mother’s Day gifts for Mom’s House, I will send info out before the next meeting.

The deadline for the LAOH Division 2 Scholarship in Memory of Mary Curry is May 1st, (see the info & application flyer). Encourage your family members who are eligible to apply.

The NYS Spring Board Weekend in East Durham,NY is May 1-3. If you would like to attend or have any questions, please let me know.

Our Spring Rummage Sale will be here before you know it. So as the days get warmer and you bring out those clothes that “shrunk” during the winter months, put them aside and bring them in on June 5th, the drop off day with the sales on June 5-6.

Junior Division News

Thank you to everyone who visited and supported our Junior members at their table during Irish Day. Your generosity means so much to them. A special thank you to Mrs. McManus for the beautiful basket and to Mrs. Esworthy for the goodies—your donations truly helped make the fundraiser a success.

Before our March meeting, the Juniors volunteered at the AOH breakfast—well done, everyone! They also took time at their meeting to write cards for the April Honor Flight veterans to show their appreciation for their service.

Please join us in welcoming Payton Coffey, who was installed as a new member. Welcome to the group—we’re glad to have you!

Up next is the Junior Bake Sale, held alongside the AOH Chicken Barbeque on April 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Stop by and pick up a sweet treat.

Our next meeting will be on May 4th at 4:30 p.m. at the AOH Hall. We will be baking and assembling Mother’s Day gifts for our homebound Hibernian ladies.

We are also actively recruiting new members, ages five to eighteen, for the Junior Division and are asking our brothers and sisters to help spread the word. Please reach out to eligible family or non-family members. As our girls age out, continued growth is essential to keeping our division strong and encouraging lifelong involvement in the LAOH. For more information, contact the LAOH 2 Vice President or pick up an application at the Hall.
